Do you want to support social change education?
Kotare Trust is a unique organisation which provides education with especially tailored programmes designed to meet the needs of people working for developmental change within organisations and communities. Our workshops support people and groups working locally, regionally and sometimes nationally in areas including community economic development; youth and community leadership; union, unemployed and beneficiary issues; environmental nurturing; disability issues; womens’ issues; Te Tiriti, and economic literacy.
By contributing to Kotare you are also supporting many people in communities around Aotearoa to work for justice and positive change. This objective will take long term vision and long term action, Kotare wants to be offering our unique support long term. Please help us achieve this.
How can you participate?
Kotare has a membership structure. Your membership and donations are essential if Kotare is to continue to develop our programmes and research.
Membership is $20 per annum. As a member you will receive quarterly newsletter. We rely on our members not only for financial support but as key contacts in local communities who can help us identify groups and people who would like to work with us. Whether it's suggesting a young person for our leadership workshops or identifying a community campaign needing some help with strategies, or passing on our information to a community group interested in social change, members can play a critical role.
Financial Support
Kotare members are encouraged to support us through an automatic payment, as this provides a stable and consistent income for the work. Even small amounts through an AP make a huge difference. Your donations for specific initiatives such as the building upgrade and wetland planting are also most gratefully received.
If you give me a fish you have fed me for a day. If you teach me to fish then you have fed me until the river is contaminated or the shoreline seized for development. But if you teach me to organise then whatever the challenge I can join together with my peers and we will fashion our own solution.
